Invoking a subroutine while DOM parsing

All,

 

Is it possible to invoke a subroutine while DOM parsing is active and a
specific xpath is hit ?. My requirement is when I validate my main
schema, I want to validate an xs:any content with the content's schema
reference. Or is there any other way to do this
