Just a little clarification:
I know there is a way to reroute events to different objects. But there 
are a few things you can't do in that way e.g. if you have a div with 
scrollbars containing text, and an image overlayed (above in z-order), 
you won't be able to operate the scrollbars nor to select (or copy) the 
text.
