I think Dan's asking you to raise this issue with the chairs first, and saying that it should not have been sent as "an open letter to Anne".

Just before I respond to this, I'd like clarification :
are you saying that, provided I had sent the message
to you and Chris, it would then have been OK to send
it to the list, or are you saying that it should never
have been sent to the list at all ?
