As a follow-up from last week's SIMILE telecon, I'm forwarding various
information regarding VIAF (Virtual Information Authority File) with
permissions and cc'ing Barbara who can provide any additional
information on this work.

1) Barbara's presentation on VIAF (presented in Rome last Nov. and
similar versions previously in Hong Kong, Beijing, Stavanger, Norway,
etc.) about the idea of the VIAF being a building block for the Semantic
Web.

2) VIAF Project description done for LOC staff.

3) A document from Barbara, Larry Dixson, Diane Humes sent to DELOS/NSF
Working Group on Actors/Roles that also provides another take on the
VIAF.
