Multiple Instances of Amaya

I would like to use multiple instances of Amaya. There is a configuration setting (in file thot.rc) that would have this effect when set to 'AMAYA_MULTIPLE_INSTANCES=yes'. The default-setting is 'AMAYA_MULTIPLE_INSTANCES=no'. Unfortunately, it doesn't have any effect. I guess that is a bug. Or am I missing some additional setting?
