I am assuming it is a bug, though it may be as designed.


When there are HTML errors, the lower right had circle turns red. With 
the screen split, showing source on the bottom (Views > Show source), if 
the focus is in the lower (source) split, clicking on the red circle 
does not open the parsing error dialogue box. If the focus is on the 
upper split (the rendered page), the parsing error dialogue box opens.

Conversely, regardless of focus (upper or lower split), View > Show 
parsing errors will open the parsing error dialogue box.
