Thanks! The new dialogue is much better and the resulting code is in the expected sequence. I'll probably need to assign a keyboard shortcut sequence to the "Insert > Hidden elements > meta" command, but I've found the instructions on how to do that (and all the cautions about doing it on a Mac) and will give it a try.
