Crash + Success with SVG Copy & Paste <use> external

Irne,

I successfully copied, pasted in a new document and saved, the sun
icon from here:
http://peepo.co.uk/temp/use-external.svg
I was then able to open the new document in Opera.

however when trying the identical procedure with the cloud, Amaya
crashes.

I conclude that perhaps line is supported but not path?

This is a very exciting development, thanks and congratulations.

also,

Opera 9.5 now supports external references for <use>
could we usefully discuss copy and paste on public-webapi@w3.org ?
http://www.w3.org/TR/clipboard-apis/

and finally

Is there a simple method to ensure that SVG is the default document
type.
eg so that 'command N' creates a new SVG document in os x.

cheers
