It doesn't freeze. The focus is moved to another dialog, but that dialog is 
hidden by the Preferences dialog.
This problem will be fixed in the next release.

In Amaya by default the object width is 100% of its enclosing element.
That explain why images appear one above the other.
Not sure we can fix this problem in next release.
