Amaya and shell commands

Hello,

I'm using (or abusing) Amaya as a front end to a home-cooked tool chain
that converts XHTML to Lout to PS to PDF code. As part of this process,
I'm doing some macro expansion, i.e. I type
[if[someFigure], which when expanded inserts some custom XHTML markup
for a figure and a legend along with some default formatting
instructions for Lout. It currently works this way:

- save file from Amaya -> triggers tool chain
- reload file

Is it feasible to add some command to Amaya that would
- save the file
- issue a configurable shell command on it
- reload it
?

This might also be handy for people looking to do some XSLT or whatever
on their files while editing.

BTW, I tried to start amaya 9.51 from the command line (on Windoze XP),
but it only gives me two empty alert boxes and then dies. If I use the
'run' command in the start menu, it opens a folder view of amaya instead
of starting the program. It works alright on icon clicking, though - not
sure what's wrong here.

Thanks for your time and consideration, Michael
