MathML as object

Hi,

When I insert an SVG file (*.svg) in a XHTML 1.0 or 1.1 document using
the object element (image/svg+xml type), Amaya does not change the
document doctype and the document is displayed OK in Amaya, Firefox or
IE (with Adobe SVGViewer plug-in).

But when I insert a MathML file (*.mml) in a XHTML 1.0 or 1.1 document
using the object element, Amaya changes the document doctype into XHTML
1.1 + MathML 2.0. Is it necessary to do it? Is it possible to maintain
the XHTML 1.0 or 1.1 doctype? What would be the correct MIME type
(application/mathml+xml perhaps)?

Best regards,
Bartolomé Sintes (http://www.cdlibre.org)
