Nested or overlapping tags do not display

Hello,
Overlapping tags do not display correctly, for
example:
<STRONG>Hello, <I>I'm </STRONG>doing fine</I>
The italics are not displayed at all, and the space
after "I'm" does not display.

Nested tags also do not display correctly, for
example:
<STRONG>Hello, <I>I'm </I>doing fine</STRONG>
The italics are not displayed at all.
