The input element does not honour the background setting 
although the textarea element does !!!   
maybe a check thru all elements to see how they treat basic
style properties   background, color, margin, border, padding and width 
i see lots of goofs in the form elements especially .... 
Amaya may choose to have different defaults to effect an 'Amaya' look
but definitely should respect an author's style...    //
