There are two interesting articles in this week's _Economist_ that
bear on our security issues and CAPTCHA multiplexing and/or
alternatives in particular.

1. law ethics and business of breaking things:

One deals with market-making for security holes that someone has
found and that the vendor hasn't plugged yet. This has parallels to
the business practices of


2. identity brokering plus biometrics seeking to enter retail use from phones.

The other article deals with voiceprinting technology used for user
authentication in payment transactions.
