Re: Getting Started Tips - Issues 188 & 272

Hello All,

Quick update on Tips Resource issues 188 & 272:

   1. *Issue 188:* I spoke with James on the phone about our thoughts for
another version of the alt text tip - the idea of the text in the example
being only what would be on the actual web page and then having a popup as
part of the graphic image like you would see it in a live example. He will
work on a version or two for us to look at.
   2. *Issue 272:* James has worked up the example to add the vertical
gray bar to the left of all examples. He also has some ideas that he would
like to have discussed about adding the words "sufficient" and
"insufficient" to each example so that it is easier to understand if the
example is a good or bad example using a smaller view port. This is an area
he would like to bring to EOWG for discussion. I have asked him to put
together some background explanation, differing examples that need the
added words, and some mock up as a visual to facilitate discussion.
   3. *Quick Training: *Also spoke with James about Kevin providing a 30-45
minute training session on *Middle-man Installation and Use* for others
like James who will be editors on some resources. I explained that we would
like to do that training so that James could continue with the bulk of the
editing and not have to continually push content to Kevin for previews or
updates. The chairs decided it would be a good idea to conduct this
training at the first EO telecon in January (08 January).
*@ Kevin* - James thought it would be a good idea to use these two
issues as the content for the training. (i.e., James has stepped up to edit
Tips resource, he is going to work on two issues for the resource, this is
what he needs to install/set up in order to edit and develop the resource,
he can now create previews for the working group to look at and then update
the content directly based on resolutions.)
   4. *James is continuing work* on the issues and will be ready to create
mock-ups and telecon discussion topics the week following the training on
08 January for the next meeting on the 15 January.
   5. James, when emailing updates about these two issues to Shawn, Sharron
and me, please also Cc Kevin.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Brent
