Jan's proposal for 1.8.6 Zoom

Hi Jan,

On today's call we discussed your proposal for 1.8.6 ("Results of Questionnaire UAWG Survey for 4 July 2013", https://www.w3.org/2002/09/wbs/36791/20130702/results#xq8) which reads:

    <blockquote>

            Comment

    JR11: I'm concerned this might be read that each viewport needs to be configurable separately? Should it say top-level viewport?

            Existing

    1.8.6: Zoom: The user can rescale content within graphical viewports as follows: (Level A)
    Zoom in: to 500% or more of the default size; and
    Zoom out: to 10% or less of the default size, so the content fits within the height or width of the viewport.

            Proposed

    1.8.6: Zoom: The user can rescale content within top level graphical viewports as follows: (Level A)
    Zoom in: to 500% or more of the default size; and
    Zoom out: to 10% or less of the default size, so the content fits within the height or width of the viewport. (Level AA)

    </blockquote>

We were confused by the trailing "(Level AA)" after the "Zoom out" list item, when the success criterion itself is left Level A. As we really can't have an SC with split priorities, we assumed that this was a mistake, possibly a copy/paste error. The consensus on the call was to use your wording except my new wording for the zoom out item (unfortunately awkward, but at least less ambiguous), and to keep the entire SC at Level A. Is that acceptable, or were you arguing for changing the entire SC to Level AA?

The final would then be:

    <blockquote>
    1.8.6: Zoom: The user can rescale content within top level graphical viewports as follows: (Level A)
    a) Zoom in: to 500% or more of the default size; and
    b) Zoom out: to 10% or less of the default size, or enough to let the content fit within the height or width of its viewport, whichever size is smaller.

     Thanks,
     Greg
