*Accessibility is vitally important for people with disabilities and older
mobile users*

Should the mobile industry be talking more about accessibility? A new
report on the number of people with disabilities worldwide could provide a
powerful incentive to users and developers alike. It estimated that there
are now more than 1 billion people around the world who experience some
form of disability, with 110-190 million of them encountering significant
difficulties. In an age of mind-boggling advances in information and
communication technologies, the wider implications are enormous.

The statistics come from the first-ever World Report on Disability from the
World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Bank offer insight into the
market value of designing for accessibility.
