Re: User Agent Teleconference for 19 October 2006

Some thoughts...

9.2 Provide user interface focus (P1)

- this has the flavor of checkpoint included as a technicality -
especially since there is already a P1 checkpoint requiring focus to be
implemented according to conventions.

- BTW: since 9.1 is "Provide content focus (P1)" and 9.2 is "Provide
user interface focus (P1)" I kind of expected 9.4 to be "Move user
interface focus". (but really since they are all P1's maybe they could
be rolled together - e.g. "Provide a user-controlled (content|user
interface) focus".

----------

9.3 Move content focus (P1)

- should mention highlighting current focus which is elsewhere in the
doc (10.2 Highlight selection, content focus, enabled elements, visited
links (P1) )

- does not specify by keyboard accessible means (though this is implied
by 1.1 Full keyboard access (P1) )

- for example 2 what about when sub-items have their own sub-items?

- example 3 (respect...) has two distinct ideas and might be split in two.

----------

9.4 Restore viewport state history (P1)

- how many "back" button presses?

- does first normative inc/exc ("The viewport history associates values
for these three state variables...") cover Web app situation where back
button is not supported?

- how to keep track of date modified for ex#1?

- ex.#4 is a good one but seems like "doing more"

----------

Cheers,
Jan
