W3C User Agent Teleconference for 21 July 2005
-------------------------------------------------------------
Chair: Jim Allan
Date: Thursday, 23 June 2005
Time: 2:00-3:00 pm Boston Local Time, USA (19:00-20:00 UTC/GMT)
Call-in: Zakim bridge at: +1-617-761-6200, code 8294#
IRC: sever: irc.w3.org, port: 6665, channel: #ua.
-------------------------------------------------------------

Please send regrets or additional agenda items to the list.

1. Chair transition. (5 min)
	Thank-you Jon Gunderson for 8 years of leadership.
	Intro Jim Allan
	- Goals
		* Publish HTML 4.01 Test Suite
		* Update User Agent evaluations (new browsers, new versions of assistive
technology)
		* Renew work on SMIL and SVG test suites
		* Recruit expertise for SMIL and SVG work
2. HTML 4.01 Test Suite work (45 min)
	The test suite is currently a draft. We need to review the tests and
address issues/bugs.

	- background: Chartered UAWG deliverables
http://www.w3.org/WAI/UA/charter-20041107.html#deliverables

	- background: Chartered UAWG milestones
http://www.w3.org/WAI/UA/charter-20041107.html#milestones

	- UAAG 1.0 Test Suite for HTML 4.01
http://cita.rehab.uiuc.edu/wai-eval/index-ts.php?ts_id=1

	- Testcase comments from HPR implementation report (Thursday, 24 March)
http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/w3c-wai-ua/2005JanMar/0058.html

	- Let's look through bugs & work on incorporating edits during the meeting.
		* Previous work on test suites - http://www.w3.org/2005/03/24-ua-irc
			* Test 101 fixed
			* Test 128 resolved
			* Test 130 fixed
		* Pending
		* Test 134: LONGDESC attribute for FRAME elements
http://cita.rehab.uiuc.edu/wai-eval/show-test/index.php?test_id=134
The link to the frameset testcase must be wrong because that test contains
no longdesc for the FRAME elements.
Here is the old longdesc testcase in the UAAG test suite that worked.
http://www.w3.org/WAI/UA/TS/html401/cp0203/0203-FRAME-LONGDESC-TEST.html

		 * Test 136: TITLE attribute for FRAME elements
http://cita.rehab.uiuc.edu/wai-eval/show-test/index.php?test_id=136
The testcase file is missing.

		* Test 148: PROVISION 1: repairing missing ALT conditional content for
AREA
http://cita.rehab.uiuc.edu/wai-eval/show-test/index.php?test_id=148
This is not a good test case because there is not a real URL for the areas.

		* Test 151: PROVISION 1: repair missing TITLE attribute for FRAME elements
http://cita.rehab.uiuc.edu/wai-eval/show-test/index.php?test_id=151
Testcase link is bad.

		* Test 166: PROVISION 1: repairing missing NOFRAMES elements
http://cita.rehab.uiuc.edu/wai-eval/show-test/index.php?test_id=166
Testcase link is bad.

		* Test 169: PROVISION 1: repairing missing OBJECT element conditional
content for images
http://cita.rehab.uiuc.edu/wai-eval/show-test/index.php?test_id=169
I think there is an error on this page after the test image.

		* Test 170: PROVISION 1: repairing missing OBJECT element conditional
content for video
http://cita.rehab.uiuc.edu/wai-eval/show-test/index.php?test_id=170
I think there is an error on this page after the test video.

		* Test 195 should be deleted and linking to existing UA review to be
repaired
http://cita.rehab.uiuc.edu/wai-eval/show-test/index.php?test_id=195

		* Test 225: Control Animated Images Using Single Keys
http://cita.rehab.uiuc.edu/wai-eval/show-test/index.php?test_id=225
The one test is not very representative of this checkpoint.

	- any follow-up work that people can do offline?

4. Meeting Schedule for 3Q 2005 (10 min)
proposed dates: 4 Aug, 18 Aug, 1 Sept, 15 Sept
How would people feel about 90-minute meetings?

===

IRC reminders and tips:
* IRC is supplemental to the call. Some participants do not have IRC. All
substantive comments should be said verbally in the call (not just in IRC).
* to type a side comment that will _not_ get recorded in the minutes, type
/me comment - e.g.:
/me hopes Andrew had a good biking trip
- will come out: *jim hopes Andrew had a good biking trip
