I chose that keystroke to mimic NVDA's NVDA+F7 shortcut for the same
functionality. It seems like firefox does not yet have a UI to change
the shortcuts[1].

Do you have a suggestion which key combination I should use instead?

Actually, this was a chrome extension before I ported it to firefox. I
did not upload it to the chrome web store though because the
registration seemed tedious. Instructions on how to install this on
chrome are available in the README:
