An updated Working Draft of HTML5: Techniques for providing useful text alternatives is available at <http://www.w3.org/TR/html-alt-techniques/>

This publication incorporates changes and corrections since October 2012, but does not include pending bugs, which are listed in the Status of This Document section. An updated publication with more information on descriptions of complex images and with clarifications of other guidance is expected in the near future.
