PhD opening in Accessible Authentication at Syracuse University's iSchool

We are looking for a PhD student interested in Accessible Authentication and the focus is to design and evaluate accessible, secure, usable, and privacy-preserving authentication schemes that everyone can use.

The project lead is Dr. Yang Wang (yangwang.syr.edu<http://yangwang.syr.edu>) and the PhD student will be part of an exciting 5-year, multi-university, project on Inclusive Web and Cloud Computing (inclusiveweb.org<http://inclusiveweb.org>) funded by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR). We will be collaborating with researchers from Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) and University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) to develop novel computing infrastructure to better serve people with disability.

The ideal candidate background is privacy and security, and accessible computing. The candidate should also have strong programming skills. This project will allow the candidate to be part of an inter-disciplinary group and will encourage the application of their technical skills to practical problems. The candidate will gain experience in a number of areas including privacy and security, accessible computing, and human-computer interaction.

Like all PhD positions at Syracuse’s iSchool, the position comes with up to four years of funding that includes tuition, fees, travel support, and a competitive annual stipend. The Syracuse iSchool is consistently ranked as a top information school in the nation (No.1 in Information Systems by U.S. News & World Report).
