You might also like to check out JPlayer, which provides an easily
customizable  CSS based interface and uses native HTML5 media or flash,
depending on whether the browser supports HTML5 media  and user
configuration

Hi,

I'm new in this list and I don't know if it's a relevant topic. However, you
can create the controls in JavaScript (and use screen readers) whit Flex.
