RE: Existing EARL Tools

Hi Sean,

In the case of Hera [1], in the help page of the tool [2], explains how to generate the report in RDF and how to display the report. (The interface is what Chaals explained).

In the help page you can find the link to a "tool" (a PHP script really) for visualization (by humans) of EARL/RDF information. You can download the script (in a zip file) from here directly: http://www.sidar.org/hera/rdf_parser.zip

All the best,
Emmanuelle

Asunto: Existing EARL Tools

http://www.w3.org/WAI/ER/tools/complete

There are, by my automated count, 127 tools in this database.

Fourteen of them are said to produce EARL.

Seven of those are free software.

One of those is a duplicate, leaving six tools. Here they are:

(a) http://www.sidar.org/hera
(b) http://valet.webthing.com/page/
(c) http://www.tawdis.net/
(d) http://validator.w3.org/
(e) http://www.it.uc3m.es/vlc/waex.html
(f) http://wave.webaim.org/

I could only figure out how to get (b) Page Valet to give me EARL from the default user interfaces. Can anybody work out how to get the others to do the same?

Page Valet gives EARL using the following namespace:

http://www.w3.org/2001/03/earl/1.0-test#

Which is quite old. From the W3C Validator CVS we find a more recent update:

“Update EARL/RDF output to EARL 1.0 20091029 Working Draft.”
http://dev.w3.org/cvsweb/validator/share/templates/en_US/earl_xml.tmpl

But apparently no user interface for it.

P.S. This message originally sent on the Thu, May 12, 2011 at 4:31 PM, but went into the manual processing pile so I thought I'd just subscribe and resend it myself.
