WAI Web Site Update

Dear WAI IG Participants,

As announced previously[1], the WAI Education and Outreach Working Group (EOWG) is redesigning the WAI Web site:
- http://www.w3.org/WAI/

We are in the process of putting online the first phase of the redesign, which includes:
* on the home page: "WAI develops" and "WAI welcomes" for people new to WAI, and Highlights for different identified audiences
* consistent navigation on all main pages to make it easier get to related documents
* revised information architecture (that is, the grouping and labeling of pages) presented in categorized annotated lists such as http://www.w3.org/WAI/guid-tech.html
* new overview documents such as http://www.w3.org/WAI/intro/components.php and the guidelines overview pages
* improved usability, and more...

Please see the project page for additional information:
- http://www.w3.org/WAI/ut3/redesign/project.html
It includes:
* project goals
* status, and a link to notes on open issues and upcoming development
* documentation of the user-centered design (UCD) process
* e-mail addresses for sending comments

We hope that you enjoy using the new WAI Web site and find the new pages useful!

Best regards,
~ Shawn Henry, for the WAI Site Redesign Task Force (WSTF) of EOWG
