Hallo Jesper,

i also use xhtml 1.1.serving with application/xhtml+xml and have an
alternate xhtml 1.1 served as text/html version for ie and other browsers
that do not understand the other version. Of course this version is without
xml- declaration or xml stylesheet processing instructions.

Both versions are valid/wellformed and are wcag-aaa compliant. The site
served as application/xhtml+ xml is
http://www.hoehnermusikfan.net/index.xhtml

In some weblogs and other publications I even can read that W3C declared
html being dead.

Greetings
