plain english news feeds: ABC

delighted to come across: http://www.abc.net.au/news/justin/default.htm 
from the Australian Broadcasting Commission.
not ideal, but very similar to BBC: 
http://news.bbc.co.uk/low/english/pda/

unfortunately the use of English is still far too verbose.
has anyone come across a similar site that limits itself to 5 letter 
words with a few longer words thrown in?
