Oh dear.  Windows 2000, Windows XP.

Even if you discount the cost of either of those, just the cost of
hardware capable of running them is going to be a serious barrier
to accessibility for the many blind people who are not all that rich -
and that's before we start on the nightmare of dealing with the
"viruses".

As for the words "freedom" and "scientific"?   Ouch!  Smacks of
"Peoples Democratic Republic" and such usages.
