Is there a recommendation to provide an icon as a link?
not just a general logo, but specific to a given activity.

I am finding it very time consuming capturing pages from "flash" or "shockwave" sites, clipping and touching up images in order to provide a link.

Presumably the authors have suitable artwork, yet very rarely provide gif/jpg links to what are graphical activities.
