Preliminary AGI Results: Who They Were

The HTML Writers Guild's Accessibility Guidelines Implementation
project brought together a number of web designers from around
the world to participate in evaluating and testing the W3C's
WAI guidelines for page authoring.  In total, 60 Guild members
from 4 countries participated by answering at least one of the
three questionnaires.

Aggregate information about the participants includes:

  50% were professional web designers

  Web Design Experience:
  
    13% ranked themselves as "Beginner"
    67% ranked themselves as "Intermediate"
    20% ranked themselves as "Expert"
  
    Average level: Intermediate

  HTML 4.0 Proficiency:

    63% ranked themselves as "Beginner"
    27% ranked themselves as "Intermediate"
    10% ranked themselves as "Expert"

    Average level: Beginner-Intermediate

  CSS2 Stylesheets Proficiency:

    83% ranked themselves as "Beginner"
     8% ranked themselves as "Intermediate"
     7% ranked themselves as "Expert"

    Average level:  Beginner

  Skill at Accessible Web Design:

    45% ranked themselves as "Beginner"
    53% ranked themselves as "Intermediate"
     2% ranked themselves as "Expert"

    Average level:  Beginner-Intermediate
