Call For Consensus — ends Friday January 11 at 12:01pm Boston time.

In the WCAG 2.1 timeframe the Working Group moved the WCAG Techniques and Understanding documents out of TR space to allow for more rapid updating. The Working Group has since discussed a change which would mark WCAG 2.0 supporting documents as “retired” and direct users to the latest versions where updates to Techniques and Understanding pages that support both WCAG 2.0 and WCAG 2.1 are being made. The resources will continue to be available, but the documents would be clearly indicating to viewers where to find the up to date information.

This CFC is to verify consensus to mark the following Group Notes as “retired” and include a paragraph at the top that directs viewers to current versions that exist:

  1. Requirements for WCAG 2.0 (Group Note)
  2. Gateway to Techniques for WCAG 2.0 (Working Draft)
  3. Understanding WCAG 2.0 (Group Note) (Has current version to link to)
  4. Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 Checklist (Working Draft)
  5. Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 Checklist (Working Draft)
  6. Techniques for WCAG 2.0 (Group Note) (Has current version to link to)
  7. Requirements for WCAG 2.0 Extensions (Working Draft)

If you have concerns about this proposed consensus position that have not been discussed already and feel that those concerns result in you not being able to live with this decision, please let the group know before the CfC deadline.

Thanks,
AWK
