Understanding Identify Common Purpose

Hi all.

My most recent task is to review the Understanding documents for SC 1.3.4
(or is it 1.3.5?) and 1.3.5 (or is it 1.3.6?) - I note that the Editor's
Draft <https://rawgit.com/w3c/wcag21/master/guidelines/index.html> is
up-to-date with regard to numbering, although the links to Understanding
for (Identify Input Purpose - SC 1.3.5 and 1.3.6 - Identify Purpose) on the
Editor's Draft are currently resulting in a 404s.

*1.3.5 Identify Input Purpose*

Returning to the current CR Draft of WCAG 2.1, it still shows the older SC
numbers, but more importantly, the Understanding *link* taken from that CR
draft for 1.3.4 (old #) is still pointing to an older version of the
understanding (
https://www.w3.org/WAI/WCAG21/Understanding/identify-common-purpose.html),
yet I believe we've made some significant changes since that time.

Is this the most recent draft?

)

If yes, then the following observations/suggestions apply:

1) the current Understanding document incorrectly identifies this as
*Understanding
Identify Common Purpose*, yet we've change the name of this SC to *Identify
Input Purpose*, so an editorial change is required there.

2. Under *Examples* it states:

The list of values that should be used are available in the HTML5
specification: autocomplete values from HTML5.2
<https://www.w3.org/TR/html52/sec-forms.html#sec-autofill>.

While this is factually correct
, did we not decide to also include that list directly in the WCAG 2.1
spec as an Appendix? Should we not also indicate that here (and perhaps
stop pointing to the HTML 5.2 spec)
?

3. There appears to be a number of proposed future @@@link(s) that still
need to be populated:

   - as required by 4.2.1 (@@@ link)
   - Question, do we even have a SC 4.2.1?

      - (@@@ link to personas?)
   - COGA friendly content and applications (@@@ link)
   - User need Table 3: Entering data, error prevention & recovery (@@@ add
   link)
      - Question: where are these links supposed to be coming from?
Do we have them, and can we get them added to this document?

      - Use HTML5.2 autocomplete attributes (@@@ link, Hxx?)

        [Link =
   https://www.w3.org/TR/html5/sec-forms.html#autofilling-form-controls-the-autocomplete-attribute
-
   not sure what Hxx indicates]

Everything else appears to be fine.
