RE: Resolution to accept the candidate SC 'Accidental Activation'

Ø +1 to the CfC. Mark Hakkinen and I have discussed this, noting the relationship with the issue of target size. People with dexterity difficulties are more likely to move outside the target before successfully invoking the up event.

Agreed –we are trying to get consensus on the target size SC. In addition, I’ve heard from researchers that people may also put down their finger and then drag it to the appropriate location and then lift up. Generally that doesn’t seem to be as problematic with current implementation.

+1 to the CfC. Mark Hakkinen and I have discussed this, noting the relationship with the issue of target size. People with dexterity difficulties are more likely to move outside the target before successfully invoking the up event. We need to be sure that such cases are addressed appropriately, whether in the combination of success criteria integrated into WCAG 2.1 or at the user agent level.
