Helping the Silver project

WCAG WG,

Thank you for all the interest in helping the Silver project. Here is a
list of what we are working on currently that you may be interested in.
If you have ideas or can help on any of the items below, please email
Jeanne, Sarah and Shawn (addresses below). We will get an email list
set up as soon as Silver becomes a Task Force.

1) During November & December we are building the Stakeholder Map, which
will be a broad group of people who will help give insight into the
needs of the broader accessibility community now and in the future. We
are working on a survey form for people to submit their ideas of people
or organizations who they think should be a stakeholder. You can expect
to hear more about this by 7 November. We encourage you to start
thinking about different individuals and stakeholder groups you feel
should be involved with the Silver research.

2) We will need a small project management system for tracking the
deadlines and actions. It needs to be free, have ability to export the
data to W3C-space and be publicly-viewable. Please email us if you have
an idea.

3) We want to contact professors with accessibility-focused programs who
have grad students to help us with the research phase. They need to
know as soon as possible so they can include it in their plans for the
new semester in January. One of the major tasks that grad students can
help us with is drafting valid surveys, so we want professors to
encourage that for student projects during the upcoming semester. We
will be working on objectives for the surveys to give to professors so
they can include it in their plans. Ideas are welcome. We want to
complete this by November 11 so we can start contacting professors.

4) Starting in January, we will be looking for people to help with
stakeholder interviews. More details to come, just to put in the back
of your mind.

The Silver Design Process plan is on the WCAG WG wiki at:
https://www.w3.org/WAI/GL/wiki/Process_of_Designing_Silver

Please contact us if you have any ideas or contribution to this current
work. We are transitioning from planning to the actual research phase,
so we will have more contact as we develop the project plan in more detail.

Thanks for all you do.
