It needs two prongs:

1.      A campaign (or something) to get the mobile UAs to update.

2.      A temporary exception in the WCAG SC. I know we don’t do “until user agents…”, but the technology supported equivalent. I do also think it is such an obvious exception it needs a note by the SC.

[Jason] I’m thinking of this not as an exception, but as a note to remind authors that in order to meet this SC, they have to “rely upon” a technology which supports it – and should include this feature in any assertion about which technologies they’re depending on for purposes of conformance. I can put together a draft if this approach appears appropriate.
