RE: Possible added SC to 2.5

I like doyle's wording here.

η ελευθερία της ομιλίας είναι ουσιαστική στη δημοκρατία

Hello All -

I actually like what David came up with but have put some words around his original to see if it'll work for all concerned. One thing, it's not the information that is required but rather the "actual" forms, fields or other entry mechanisms that are required. Users need to know in advance what is required of them for successful input completion.

I propose the following:

"Forms, fields or other user input mechanisms that are required for the successful completion of the interaction are clearly identified."

Does this get to Gregg's issue and still convey what we want to say? And, I agree - this is something everyone needs but I think it's helpful just th esame.

I think that wording is too general. If I was filling out a form - then it would have to list every piece of paper or record as well as knowledge that I needed.

Can you restrict this to forms? And fields?

Also - also this looks like something everyone would need. Not just people with disabilities. Am I missing something?

I have been working on General Techniques for Guideline 2.5.

I recommend that we add a SC to this guideline perhaps as SC level 2 item 4, that says something like.

"Information that is required for the successful completion of the interaction is clearly identified."

--------

I'm speaking about a line at the top of a document that says something like:

required fields are marked with an *

or

required fields are marked with "(required)"
