11 January 2001 Working Draft of WCAG 2.0 published

Hello,

The latest working draft is available from: http://www.w3.org/WAI/GL/WCAG20.

I have included the list of changes in this message and they are also
available at: http://www.w3.org/WAI/GL/WCAG20/change-history.html

Open issues are marked with @@'s they are:
1. Need a "How user needs affect navigation and interaction" explanation
after guideline 2 that would be similar to what is proposed after guideline 1?
2. Jason listed "browsing" as something separate, is it really?
3. Need supplementary text for checkpoint 3.6
4. In the note of checkpoint 3.6 it says to only define the first occurence
of acronyms. is this true? i propose we drop this note for now, leave as
open issue.
5. in 4.2 Jason had listed backwards compatibility explicitly. Should it be
included with 4.2 or in separate checkpoint? backwards compatibility with
ATs vs browsers is very different, no?
6. 6.1 (graceful transformation) seems to be a general concept that could
be moved to the introduction. this is where this is explained in WCAG 1.0
7. 6.2 Seems to be redundant. There was at least one proposal to delete
this checkpoint. It also could be moved to the Introduction or an appendix.
However, it is our best link to the XML Accessibility Guidelines.

The checkpoint mapping between 1.0 and 2.0 has not been updated. I am
waiting for the 2.0 draft to stabilize before updating the checkpoint mapping.

· Two checkpoints from the 21 November 2000 version did not seem to
fit into the new structure:

could be moved to the introduction. this is where this is explained in WCAG
1.0
· 6.2 Seems to be redundant. There was at least one proposal to
delete this checkpoint. It also could be moved to the Introduction or an
