Although a Special School with many young people with learning disabilities, we feel it is important that our school has a high profile in the wider world. The site was commisioned for pupils in KS3/4 in the NW. It will be officially launched in March. The task now is provide suitable learning resources for young people with disabilities - as you are acutly aware this is no easy task. I have put a lot of work into this and will add to it. It is continually underconstruction. I am also keen to address gender and race issues. Here I am hampered by the scarcity of positive images. At present I purchase royalty free images from Corel and Digital Design - these have limitations. Last year school site had extensive materials and references to AAC. This year I have used many of the childrens' photographs. This has been a great success. Peepo is magic. I will book mark it on all our PC's. I can see it being popular. You have put a tremendous amount of work into it. Have you considered relating it to the National Literacy Strategy especially the phonetic approach to letters. There is absolutely no special needs materials in this area. If you look at the CD-ROMs for letter sounds they are a very powerful medium for interactivity and may add to your work. You can add sound files and behaviours to your symbols/letters. With the peepo web site, a supporting CD-ROM, tradtional texts, PDF and videos you will have an international best seller. Let me know if you require any other information. Keep the good work up.
