Introduction

Hi all

I’ve just joined up with EO and wanted to quickly say hello and introduce myself.

I’ve been working in accessibility for over 15 years, firstly as an academic researcher, instructor and consultant in the School of Computing at Dundee University, Scotland; and since 2013 as a consultant with The Paciello Group. Last year, my colleague Sarah Horton and I started up the Accessible Online Learning Community Group [1], with the aim of helping to strengthen WAI’s resources for the online learning community.

So my initial EO focus will be on building links with AccessLearn, but I’ll try to participate in other group activities as and when time allows. I’ve also just become involved in the APA’s Research Questions Task Force, intending to continue working on a document provisionally titled “Tips for Accessibility Aware Research” [2], which we first started as an RDWG activity before that group closed. Members of EO might be interested in contributing to that too.

Looking forward to joining in with group discussions!
Dave
