FW: Screen magnification and right aligned buttons & other content [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED]

I’ve asked WAI-IG about the location of buttons – you can see responses at http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/w3c-wai-ig/2014JulSep/thread.html#msg69

Subject: Screen magnification and right aligned buttons & other content [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED]

UNCLASSIFIED

Hello WAI-IG,

I’m seeking advice regarding button placement on multi-page forms. Convention these days often seem to place the next button on the right (and previous on the left).

I recall in the past when doing some testing with screen-magnifier users that they mentioned missing things that were on the right hand side of a screen, and in the lower right in particular. And also a preference for related functions to be grouped together.

Does anyone have any hard, or anecdotal, evidence regarding visibility/discover-ability of buttons and other content that is right aligned?

Thanks, Andrew
