I wonder if we harp enough on the fact that much (most?) of these
"requirements" are actually for a lot more than just "older Web users"?

In other words it might behoove us to sort of educate the sorts of people
(mostly academics?) who are cited herein to our contention that they should
essentially always remember that Universal Design Principles and in
particular the 4 Principles of WCAG are useful in this arena - and for Web
design practice in general.
