RE: [Tools List] Simple Search using drop-down list boxes

HI Andrew
Maybe I was unclear I was thinking of the check boxes for multiple selections. <grin>

		Helle,

		Multiple selections from drop down lists are only possible for mouse users (to my best knowledge you can not make multiple selections with a keyboard), so if the intention is to allow multiple selections, then we have to stick with check boxes. I still vote for simplicity (simple-slh) for the simple search screen.

		Hi Shadi
		Personally I prefer the checkboxes; both solutions are going to be very long lists as the numbers increase in each group. In the 2 implementation pages there are more languages in the checkbox version than in the drop-down version. I can't see why one should not be able to select more than one language, even in simple search, I for instance would like to be able to select both Danish and English, without going to the advanced search.
		Cheers

		Hi,

		There are currently two implementations of the "Simple Search" page:

		* Using checkboxes
		 <http://www.w3.org/WAI/EO/Drafts/eval/tools/simple>

		* Using drop-down listboxes
		 <http://www.w3.org/WAI/EO/Drafts/eval/tools/simple-slh>

		While the first version seems more self-explanatory, it uses much more space and may be more complex to use. Especially if the entries for language etc get even longer (which we anticipate).

		Suggestions and comments on how each one of these works or does not work for you is welcome.

		Regards,
		  Shadi
