I think it would be a very useful and sensible feature.
It's a major thing that most HTML browsers can't do today, but
more importantly it's very useful for annotations, marking reviewer's
changes, and for marking remote search results, all things you want
to do over the Internet.
If SDQL is used, you get the possible benefit of being able to apply
styles to "pseudo-elements" as well. It would make no sense for
the style sheet language and the hypertext language to use different
sorts of locator/finding-things-in-documents languages.
