Due to the fact that our WG mail list was down over the weekend, preventing the distribution of a final reminder to use the "voting booth", the XML co-editors and I have decided to leave it open an extra 48 hours to allow those of you who may have forgotten to vote one last chance to register your opinion on the inclusion of various 8879 features in XML. Votes will continue to be accepted through Tuesday evening, October 8. The URL is: http://www.textuality.com/sgml-erb/dd-1996-0002.html This survey is not binding on the ERB, and you will have the opportunity to discuss each point in much more detail during the next several weeks as specific questions come up for consideration, but this initial snapshot of WG sentiment will play an important role in focusing the discussion on the points that seem to need the most attention and will serve as an indicator of where the SGML community stands as it is represented in the WG.
