Media Alert: Tim Berners-Lee's press conference at WWW08

Members of the press and analyst community are invited to attend a press 
conference in Beijing with Tim Berners-Lee, W3C Director and inventor of 
the Web.

Tim Berners-Lee will answer questions about trends in Web technology and 
Web Science. His Thursday keynote at WWW2008 will address the future of 
Web applications. From the talk abstract:

     "Web applications currently provide greater flexibility and more 
effective human interface than static Web pages. As client-side storage 
is added, Web applications and desktop applications become closer, 
although significant differences remain. [...] We must ask ourselves in 
the long term, how we would like the Web application platform to evolve, 
and what facilities would be useful in the future."

Prof. Jinpeng Huai, Vice President of Beihang University and W3C China 
Office manager, will introduce Tim Berners-Lee, and will be available 
for questions about about W3C's presence in China.
