らせします。

本年6月に開催された「Web of Thingワークショップ <http://www.w3.org/2014/02/wot/report.html>」の
成功を受けて、W3CではWeb of Things Interest Group (IG)
設立に向けたチャーター <http://www.w3.org/2014/09/wot-ig-charter.html>の作成に着手しました。
本チャーターはWeb & Mobile IGとWeb & TV IGといった
既存のIGのチャーターを手本に作成しています。

Internet of Things (IoT)は、タグ、センサー、アクチュエイ
ターなどのデバイス、及びそれらデバイスにアクセスする
通信技術にフォーカスしており、様々な分野への応用に測
りしれない可能性を秘めています。

一方で、具体的なサービス展開については今までのところ
あまり注意が払われてきておらず、各産業ごと製品群が
横に連携する事ができない現状を打開するための新しい取
り組みが必要とされています。

このIGでは、開かれた市場へサービスを展開すべく
Web of Dataの取り組みとも連携しつつ、IoT上における
ウェブ標準のユースケースや要件を確認する議論を行ない
ます。皆さまからお寄せいただいた要件を鑑み、IGでの活
動とするか新たなWorking Group (WG)を設立するかを検討
してゆきます。

W3Cでは本IGの領域や課題を明確するために、ターゲット
とする議題や産業における優先順位、他標準開発組織など
とのリエゾン構築なども視野に入れて幅広い分野・産業か
らのご意見を募ります。

W3Cは皆さまからの積極的なご意見をお待ちしています。

るDave Ragett <dsr@w3.org>までお寄せ下さい。
W3C会員の皆さまには、会員限定MLでも意見交換をいた
だいています。

Hello,

Based on the success of W3C's Workshop on the Web of Things [1] at
generating interest and ideas, we have begun to develop a charter for
a new Web of Things Interest Group:
    http://www.w3.org/2014/09/wot-ig-charter.html


The Internet of Things focuses on devices (tags, sensors and
actuators) and the communication technologies to access these devices.
There is huge potential across many application domains. However,
there has been relatively little attention to services, and new work
is needed to break out of today's product silos. The aim is for the
Interest Group to identify use cases and requirements for Web
standards to enable open markets of services that build on top of the
Internet of Things, in combination with the Web of Data. The Interest
Group will identify whether those requirements might be satisfied in
existing or new Working Groups.

We would like to hear from a wide range of stakeholders to clarify the
mission and scope for the Interest Group, the target topics and
industry priorities, and opportunities for liaisons with other related
standards development organizations.

The public is encouraged to send comments and suggestions for changes
