2005-02-10

Table 1, “Element Changes” summarizes the global changes in XML Spec. The first column lists those elements present in V2.1 that are no longer present in V2.8. The second column lists the elements that are new in V2.8.

Table 2, “Element Content Model Changes” summarizes the content model changes in XML Spec.

In the “deleted” column: element names that are italic have been deleted from the schema entirely; element names that are bold are still present in the schema but are no longer in the content model of the element in question.

In the “new” column: element names that are italic are new in V2.8; element names that are bold are present in V2.1 but not in the content model of the element in question.

Elements, such as blist, which have exactly the same content model in both schemas, do not appear in the table at all.
