validator page won't display in my browser

I use the validator for a class I am taking, although it won't display  
in my Internet Explorer 8 browser which is run on Windows 7. Every  
time I try to type in the address validator.w3.org or click the link  
in the www.w3.org website, I get a new window displaying the Google  
homepage. Please help me.
