mssg's from group members and friends and prayer~*~ I Am The New Year ~*~

I Am the New Year
I am the New Year. I am an unspoiled page in your book of time. I am your next chance at the art of living. I am your opportunity to practice what you have learned about life during the last twelve months. All that you sought and didn't find is hidden in me, waiting for you to search it but with more determination. All the good that you tried for and didn't achieve is mine to grant when you have fewer conflicting desires. All that you dreamed but didn't dare to do, all that you hoped but did not will, all the faith that you claimed but did not have these slumber lightly, waiting to be awakened by the touch of a strong purpose. I am your opportunity to renew you allegiance to Him who said, "Behold, I make all things new."

Withdraw from worldly clamor and retreat into My presence for a time of refreshing. I am your refuge, your place of safety, where you can renew yourself spiritually and gain new perspective. Your outward success will be measured by the depth of your relationship with Me, for in My presence you will gain wisdom, direction, and strength. Do not withdraw, however, out of a sense of self-protection and personal isolation, for your kingdom purpose involves reaching out and touching the lives of others with the power of the Word and the gospel of peace. Come, and let us have sweet communion together.

What Makes Us Rich

One day a father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to
the country with the firm purpose of showing his son how poor people

They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be
considered a very poor family.

On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, "How was
the trip?"

" It was great, Dad."

"Did you see how poor people live?" the father asked.

"Oh yeah," said the son.

"So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?" asked the father.

The son answered: "I saw that we have one dog and they had four. We
have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek
that has no end. We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have
the stars at night. Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the
whole horizon. We have a small piece of land to live on and they have
fields that go beyond our sight.

We buy our food, but they grow theirs. We have walls around our
property to protect us, they have friends to protect them,"

The boy's father was speechless.

Then his son added, "Thanks, Dad, for showing me how poor we are."

Isn't perspective a wonderful thing? Makes you wonder what would
happen if we all gave thanks for everything we have, instead of worrying
about what we don't have.

Appreciate every single thing you have, especially your friends!
