You could use the HTML namespace and element names if it covers what you  
need. You could also use ARIA which covers more kinds of things and  
originally had an associated vocabulary with namespace. I am not sure if  
the vocab has been maintained, but it should be pretty straightforward to  
get it cleaned up if there is a use case for doing so.

BTW we are interested in the same thing, for Yandex Islands. We have some  
stuff we are using for now, but it is developmental and we're pretty open  
to the idea of replacing it if we find something more common, simpler, and  
workable...
